The art of Walkin' Jim Stoltz

"Art washes away from the soul the dust of everyday life." - Pablo Picasso

Welcome to our gallery of artwork from the mountains of Montana. Walkin' Jim Stoltz has long been known as a singer/songwriter, long-distance hiker, poet, photographer, author, and activist. Now we share another side of his creativity. These paintings have been done on canvas with cattle markers (an oil based, crayon-like bar). These markers are used by ranchers and farmers to mark their livestock, and Jim gets his from the local ranch supply store. They are messy and rather clumsy for painting, but Jim loves working with them. They're just plain FUN!!! The colors are very bright and they produce a live, rich texture on the canvas.

Each item below is an original, one of a kind piece. Some of the works displayed on this site have already been sold, but if you see something you like we can create something similar with the same kind of feel to it. Please contact us directly with questions about any of the art.

Watch for Jim's artwork on display at his concerts as he tours America with Forever Wild.
