Vasque
Boots
We’d like to extend a big thank you to the folks at Vasque (and Redwing Boots)
for being so supportive of Jim’s projects over the years. They’ve provided him
with the best footwear a hiker could ask for since 1977! He has used many styles
over the years including many miles on the Vasque Vagabonds and Superhikers,
and more recently the Clarion Impacts and GTXs. On the Pacific Crest Trail Jim
wore the light weight Exodus model for most of the trek. Great shoes and boots!
Thank you, Vasque!
JanSport
JanSport has also been very supportive and theyve been donating their
great frame packs to Jims treks for nearly eighteen years! Again, hes
used several different models over the years, but for the long, more remote
treks hes often used the Nepali, and for the PCT, where supplies were
readily available, he used the smaller, Rainer model. Thank you, JanSport!

Besides Vasque and JanSport the following companies helped out in 1996 on the Pacific Crest Trail walk which was a fundraiser for Predator Project, Northwest Ecosystem Alliance, and the Southern Utah Wilderness Alliance:
Patagonia
Makers of the Super plumas rain jacket, standup shorts, and dozens of other
wonderful clothing products. Jim is so impressed with this company! They not
only make durable, useful clothing, but they donate much time and money to wilderness
causes. Thank you, Patagonia!
Cascade Design
Makers of Therma-rest, Ridge-rest, and Synergy 20. Thanks to Cascade Designs!
Design Salt:
They make several types of sleeping bag liners which extend the life of your sleeping bag
and also add warmth. Jim used one for part of the PCT and it worked great. Thank you,
Design Salt!
